  • How does it work?
    Step 1. Register on https://app.thesalt.co.za/
    On sign up, you’ll give us info about you, your likes, interests, hobbies, where you shop, your lifestyle, social media interests and more. We use it to match you with clients.
    Step 2. We will find your perfect match.
    Based on your info, we match you with brands and campaigns that are best suited to you.
    Step 3. Get trained and get influencing.
    You’ll be given all the info and tasks that you need to complete the campaign. Then all you do is interact with your community. All campaigns have social media tasks, some include activations and even car branding - each is an opportunity to have fun and make more money.
    Step 4. Get paid!
    That’s it. Easy.
  • How do I verify my email address?
    When you first register on the site, we’ll send a link to the email addy that you specify. Click on the link and you’re good to go.
  • How do I verify my mobile number?
    When you first register on the site, add the number that you want us to contact you. Click “verify” and we’ll SMS you a code. Enter the code and your number is verified.
  • When I click on verify mobile number, the code doesn’t come through?
    Check that you added the correct mobile number. Then give it another go.
  • Where do I log into my profile?
    Go to https://app.thesalt.co.za/ and click LOG IN. Enter your email address and password and you’re in.
  • How do I update my personal information?
    If your details change, update them on https://app.thesalt.co.za/ and click on LOG IN with your email address and password to update your details.
  • What is theSALT Wallet?
    We create an online wallet for you that lives on theSALT website. Every time you complete a campaign and we verify that you ticked all the tasks, your well-deserved cash will be placed in your wallet. You can withdraw the money into your bank account in units of R100.
  • How does the Nano-Score or Nano-Credits work?
    When you complete quizzes and refer others to sign up to theSALT, you can earn Nano-Credits. The more credits you have, the higher up on the list you appear when we run searches for profiles that match yours. This greatly increases your chance of being chosen for a campaign. Keep a lookout for other exciting ways to earn more credits.
  • I have Nano-Credits, how do I get paid?
    Nano-Credits have no monetary value. Just influence value. You only get paid once you’ve taken part in a campaign and successfully completed all the campaign requirements.
  • Do I get money for each referral?
    No, you don’t get money, but you are rewarded with Nano-Credits. The more credits you have, the higher up on the list you appear when we run searches for profiles that match yours. This greatly increases your chance of being chosen for a campaign.
  • When will I get a campaign?
    It depends on how long it takes for an advertiser to need someone just like you. We wish we could speed up the process for everyone, but it’s unfortunately not always possible. Better your chances by keeping your profile up to date and earn Nano-Credits when you complete quizzes and referring friends.
  • How do I earn money and how do I get paid?
    For every campaign you’ll need to complete certain objectives, such as social media tasks, submitting pictures of your vehicle if required, and answering some questions. You’ll know exactly what is expected of you before the campaign launches. Money is paid out to your theSALT Wallet according to the agreed initial terms. When you’re ready, you request payment and we EFT the money into your bank account. Additional incentives may be earned on some campaigns for participation in activation-type activities.
  • Why do I need to include my bank details?
    You may accumulate money online in your theSALT Wallet, but if you want to draw the money, we need your bank details to do an electronic funds transfer to your account.
  • Will you share or sell my details to 3rd parties?
    We NEVER share or sell your data to a third party. Where a brand has shown interest in you as a potential influencer for a campaign, certain specific and relevant information may be shared with the brand team to help them make a decision.
  • What kinds of people can sign up?
    Everyone is welcome and we need all different kinds of people. When you complete our online registration process, we match your profile info to the perfect advertisers.
  • How will the information in my application form be used?
    We never share your information with any third parties. Your info is used by us for campaign selection. Your privacy is always respected and you can access, update, and delete your data whenever you want.
  • Can I cancel my agreement before expiration?
    If you are selected by a brand, we’ll give you an opportunity to confirm your participation in the campaign. Once you agree to participate, you’re required to adhere to the agreement until it expires. You may cancel your membership after your campaign is complete. Alternatively, you may choose to remain in our database and be selected by another advertiser to earn more cash in future.
  • How much can I expect to earn?
    What you earn depends on a bunch of factors, such as the rate paid by the advertiser, location and campaign duration. You could be paid anything between R1,000 and R4,000 per month.
  • How much does it cost to participate in the programme?
    Nothing! Registration is completely free.
  • If chosen, will I be restricted from certain activities?
    No, but as a brand influencer, we expect you to act and represent the brand with dignity and respect.
  • When invited, can I choose to participate or not?
    Of course. If you’re selected for a campaign, we give you a sneak peak of what the campaign is about. You can then accept or reject the invite if you don’t feel comfortable with it. You’ll still be eligible for other campaigns.
  • How will I know if I’ve been chosen for a campaign?
    Keep an eye on your emails and regularly log into your profile. Once your profile matches one of our advertiser’s objectives, we send you an online invitation.
  • Am I required to participate in the social media campaigns?
    Yes, our social media tasks or scenes are a requirement and it’s a whole lot of fun. We’d also love for you to share the brand you’re representing with your in-real-life community as well.
  • How have people liked being in the programme?
    They love it! You get to be part of a new advertising revolution and earn cash while you’re at it.
  • What happens if I move? Will I still be eligible?
    Yes, just update your profile on the website. If you are already taking part in a campaign, we’ll make every effort to keep you on board.
  • Do I have to have car branding?
    Every campaign is different. Some require car branding, some don’t. If you’re shortlisted for a campaign we will let you know upfront exactly what is and isn’t required before you confirm whether you want to take part.
  • Can my vehicle be damaged when the vinyl is removed?
    If the application and removal are carried out by our team of professionals, the risk of damage is almost zero. We provide insurance to ensure that if something goes wrong, there is no cost to you.
  • Does it affect the warranty on a vehicle?
    Usually not, but you might want to check with your warranty provider first.
  • Does it matter what colour my car is?
    No, you can’t see through the car wrap. In some campaigns we look for certain car colours to match the creative. That’s why we need many different coloured cars on our database.
  • How will my driving be tracked?
    You’ll be required to provide a monthly photo, a verification code and your car’s odometer reading. We may also schedule random inspections from time to time to verify odometer readings and ensure that the wrap is applied and in good condition. Remember that your vehicle stands out in the traffic, so take extra care to drive responsibly as you are a representative for the brand.
  • Do I have to drive a certain amount of kilometres?
    You just drive your normal amount of kilometres. When registering, you indicate your average monthly distance travelled, which is used as a benchmark.
  • Do I have to do anything besides drive my car?
    No, you just drive your car on your normal routes and take part in other requirements that were agreed upon before the campaign began, such as social media tasks and answering questions. There may be times when our advertisers want to involve you in special requests, but you’ll be informed upfront. These additional requests are a lot of fun and give you a chance to make more money. We’ll give you info about the brand and product so you can talk to friends, relatives, colleagues and others about the brand. We may even give you free samples to hand out. If the advertiser needs additional promotional activities, we will review the requirements with you at the time and change the incentives linked with your contract or agreement.
  • If I don’t like driving a wrapped car, can I remove the wrap?
    No, not until the campaign has ended, as the advertiser has invested time and money into the material used on your vehicle. We are confident that after we discuss the programme with you and you approve the client that you’re matched with, you’ll love the programme. We’ve only had great feedback from participants. If you have branding on your vehicle and you don’t like it, at the end of the campaign we remove you from the database so you won’t be eligible for future campaigns.
  • What happens if I get in a car accident?
    Oh no, we hope you’re ok! You need to contact theSALT or your campaign coordinator within 24 hours and give an indication of the severity of the accident. We will take the necessary action to replace or fix the advertising on a case-by-case basis.
  • What happens if the wrap on my car gets damaged or vandalised?
    You need to contact theSALT or your campaign coordinator within 24 hours. We will make appropriate arrangements to replace the damaged sections of the wrap.
  • How long does the ad stay on my vehicle?
    An advertisement might stay on your car for a few months or up to a year. If your vehicle needs to be re- wrapped, theSALT will make the arrangements and notify you with the details. The longer the campaign, the longer you get monthly cash!
  • What will my wrapped car look like?
    Your car will be wrapped in a digitally printed, high-quality vinyl. The advertisements are bright, bold and beautiful.
